Baptism
Jesus told His followers to make disciples and baptize them. In the book of Acts, people who believed were baptized.
What the Bible says
Baptism is how a new believer publicly identifies with Jesus. Talk to a Bible-believing church about it.
19Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20teaching them to observe all things that I commanded you. Behold, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.

38Peter said to them, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. 39For the promise is to you and to your children, and to all who are far off, even as many as the Lord our God will call to himself.” 40With many other words he testified and exhorted them, saying, “Save yourselves from this crooked generation!” 41Then those who gladly received his word were baptized. There were added that day about three thousand souls.

3Or don’t you know that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? 4We were buried therefore with him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, so we also might walk in newness of life.

Where Christians disagree
- Christians differ on who should be baptized and how (for example believers only or also infants, immersion or pouring). All agree Jesus commanded it, and that baptism itself does not earn salvation.
